Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies are, how Eventstrolley uses them, and the choices available to you.

Last updated: 15 June 2025

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to provide information to the website owner.

Cookies can be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them). They can be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third-party services we use.

In addition to cookies, we may use localStorage, a browser-based storage mechanism that works similarly but is never sent to the server automatically.

2. Who We Are

This Cookie Policy applies to the Eventstrolley website at eventstrolley.com (the “Site”), operated by Eventstrolley, a game rental and event entertainment company based in Lagos, Nigeria.

For any questions, please contact us at eventstrolley@gmail.com.

3. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and localStorage for the following purposes:

  • Authentication & Security — to keep you signed in to your Game Master or Experience Provider account, and to protect against session hijacking.
  • Session Timeout — to sign you out automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity for security.
  • User Preferences — to remember UI settings such as sidebar state so you don't have to reset them on every visit.
  • Shopping Cart — to persist your game rental selections between page navigation.

We do not currently use cookies for advertising or third-party analytics.

4. Cookies We Use

The table below lists every cookie and storage item used on the Site as of the last updated date.

4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are required for the Site to function and cannot be disabled. They are set only in response to actions you take, such as logging in to your account.

  • Authentication session cookies — Keep you securely signed in to your Game Master or Experience Provider account. Set by our authentication provider (Supabase) and typically persist for up to one year, refreshed automatically while you remain active.
  • Security timeout cookies — Record the timestamp of your last interaction on authenticated dashboards. Used solely to sign you out automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity to protect your account. These expire at the end of your browser session.

4.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies enhance your experience by remembering choices you make. You may disable them via our cookie preferences panel; however, some features may not work as expected.

  • UI preference cookies — Remember interface settings (such as navigation panel state) so they persist between visits. Retained for up to 7 days.
  • Cart storage — Saves your selected games and rental details locally in your browser so your cart is not lost when navigating between pages. Stored in browser localStorage and cleared when you complete or cancel a booking.

4.3 Analytics Cookies

We do not currently use any analytics cookies. If we introduce them in the future, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for your explicit consent before any analytics cookies are placed.

4.4 Marketing Cookies

We do not currently use any marketing or advertising cookies. Should this change, we will update this policy and obtain your consent before setting any such cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

Our Site is built using the following third-party services, which may set cookies or use similar technologies as part of their operation:

7. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You have several ways to manage how cookies are used:

7.1 Cookie Preference Centre

Use our preference centre to accept or reject each category of cookie at any time. Your choice is stored in your browser and respected on every subsequent visit.

7.2 Browser Settings

Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when cookies are set. The links below explain how to do this in popular browsers:

Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of this website and other websites you visit.

7.3 Opt-Out Tools

Should we introduce analytics or advertising services in the future, you will be able to opt out via industry tools such as:

8. Data Retention

We retain your cookie consent preference locally in your browser for as long as it applies to the current version of this policy. If we materially change the cookies we use, we will reset stored preferences and ask for your consent again.

Individual cookies are retained for the durations listed in the table in Section 4.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our practices. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via the cookie banner or email.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy, subject to your cookie consent preferences.
